“Crossing the Skyline” on Exhibit in Chicago
The exhibit models a 1/2″=1′ cross section of Dharwadker’s recent Chicago Architectural Club competition proposal to link Harold Washington Library with the Metropolitan Correctional Facility. At this scale, the library becomes a bookshelf for two types of texts: books written by luminaries in prison and books banned from American prisons. This project is in partnership with the University of Illinois Library, the Education Justice Project, the Human Rights Defense Center, and the ISoA Fabrication Lab: Yong Yi Ye, Hannah Brostoff, TJ Bayowa, and Lowell Miller.
The gallery is located in the Sullivan Center, 33 South State Street (12th floor), Chicago, Illinois.
