The American Institute of Architects of Illinois has named Carol Ross Barney, FAIA, (B.Arch 1971), recipient of its 2015 Gold Medal, Illinois’ highest honor for outstanding lifetime service. The Lead Design Architect of the Chicago Riverwalk is being recognized for a 40+year architecture career that has made lasting and meaningful improvements to our collective quality of life, as well as women’s role in the profession. In 2005, Carol was awarded AIA’s Jefferson Award for Public Architecture.

Illinois grads took home four of the top five Distinguished Architecture Awards. We are proud of the remarkable work our alumni are doing and their impact around the world on the built environment. Ramon Bosch and Bet Capdeferro are graduate architects from Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona - UPC-BarcelonaTECH since 2000 and 1999 respectively. Bet Capdeferro followed the courses of the Masters in Landscape Architecture from Fundació Politècnica de Catalunya between 1996 and 1998.
