Kathryn Anthony Publishes Book
In Defined by Design, she discusses hidden biases in fashion, product, and building design that advantage or disadvantage certain groups of people over others. From designs of the schools our children attend and the buildings we work in to ill-fitting clothes and one-size-fits-all seating in public transportation, restaurants, and movie theatres, we are surrounded by an artificial environment that can affect our comfort, our self-image, and even our health. The book is intended for a general audience and has sparked publicity in the Boston Globe, the Toronto Star, and elsewhere.
