Dina Griffin to Design Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center
Griffin told the Illinois News Bureau, “When we got the call that we were short-listed, I said, ‘Somebody pinch me.’ To be able to design a new cultural center on a campus where my education as an architect began is priceless.” For more information about the project, see the News Bureau coverage.
Griffin was keynote speaker at the fall 2015 symposium organized by the Illinois School of Architecture’s chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students. In her remarks, Griffin credited the education and mentorship she received at Illinois with laying the foundation for her success as an architect and a business leader.
Last July, it was announced that Griffin’s firm would join efforts led by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects | Partners to design the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.
