"Boutique Hotel" creates a new visual landmark in the downtown Champaign area. The design incorporates three setback features in order to to strongly connect function and appearance. The first setback is responds to automobile activity; the second establishes viewsheds for the swimming pool, gym, and meeting areas within the hotel; and the third creates the best views for luxury suite rooms.
The setbacks and sharp edges of the building emphasize the overall building form. The exterior curtain wall uses clear low-emissivity coated glass and a polished stainless-steel mullion system.
