About Brit Meeker
Bio
Brit is the Academic Advisor for Undergraduates at the School of Architecture, focusing on first- and second-year students. She has over six years of higher education experience supporting students throughout their college journeys. Her experience as a first-generation college student fuels her passion for making higher education assessable for all students. In previous roles, Brit worked in student financial aid offices at Illinois as well as Saint Xavier University in Chicago. Prior to her work in financial aid, she worked in student mentoring and outreach to educate high school students on the college-going process.
Brit earned an Associate of Science at Danville Area Community College, a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology at Knox College, and a Master of Business Administration at Saint Xavier University. Her professional interests include advising through a holistic philosophy, advocating for first-generation and underrepresented college students, and fostering life-long learning.
