About Architecture: From a Female Architect’s Perspective
Hua Yue
Hua Yue is a professor and Dean of School of Architecture at Shanghai Jiguang College, China. She received her Ph.D. at Tongji University (2008), Master’s Degree at Chongqing University (2002), and Bachelor’s Degree at Chongqing Jian Zhu University (1999). Her Ph.D. supervisor was Professor Tonghe Xing, a renowned Chinese Architect who designed the Shanghai Museum and the Deng Xiao Ping Memorial.
Hua Yue is a National Level One Registered Architect, Council Member of Shanghai Architectural Society, and Member of the Architectural Society of China. Her research interests are social and cultural
factors in architectural design, public space in urban waterfronts, green building and healthy building design, and teaching of architectural design. She has published more than 20 papers and won many awards.
At present, she is also a project architect of Architectural Branch ⅤⅤ, East China Architectural Design & Research Institute Co. Co., Ltd., hosting or participating in more than 30 project design practices.
