About John W.
“U of I’s Architecture curriculum required its students to become ‘comprehensive generalists’, knowledgeable about art, graphic design, architecture, urban planning, landscape design, structures, construction, history, mechanical electrical and plumbing engineering, sociology, and computer science, among other things. I took some great courses in all these subjects. Its faculty members were all very dedicated and talented. The curriculum provided a great liberal arts education, equipping its students to enter not only architecture but many other fields as well. The program gave me an excellent foundation with which to begin my apprenticeship. One of my classmates even became my business partner, and together we’ve had an excellent partnership with a comprehensive firm that is now in its 4th decade.”
