Alejandro Lapunzina Lectures in Argentina
His lecture provided an overview of Le Corbusier’s often frustrating, yet undoubtedly fructiferous, relationship with South America, a relationship marked by a series of remarkable projects such as the Maison Errázuriz in Zapallar (Chile, 1930), the Plan Piloto for Bogotá (Colombia, 1950s), the Ambassade de France in Brasilia (Brazil, 1963), and of course the house/physician office for Dr. Curutchet in La Plata (Argentina, 1948-1954), the only project of the famed 20th-century architect that was eventually built in South America.
