Ivana Rakshit and Yang Li, 2018 graduates of the M.Arch program, recently won a national design award for their project, “The 3/3 Education Center,” completed in Prof. Scott Murray’s studio during the spring ’18 semester. The project involved designing a new infill tower on a prominent site in downtown Chicago.

Ivana and Yang received the Award of Honor from the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA) at their 2018 Annual Awards Ceremony in Miami, Florida. At the same ceremony, in addition to student prizes, design awards were also presented in the professional category to prominent firms including Perkins + Will, Deborah Berke Partners, CookFox, and NADAAA.

Founded in 1956, SARA is a practitioner-led professional society that includes the participation of architects and industry affiliates in diverse roles within the architectural and design community. The SARA National Design Awards program recognizes excellence in architectural design in professional and student work.
