The Olympic Tribute, first dedicated in 1991 and designed by Professor Jeffery Poss, FAIA, was recognized in a 25th Anniversary ceremony at Dodd's Park on Saturday October 1, 2016. The event included the induction of five new athletes into the Monument.
For the event, the Tribute was re-landscaped with native species of Prairie Dropseed, Butterfly Weed, and Lady’s Mantle. It also has a new mow strip and other improvements.
The latest inductees have now filled all 45 of the original spaces reserved for the for the names of Olympic athletes on the red granite platform. A double chronology will now be developed to make room for the recognition of future athletes.
