Jack Sherman Baker, Professor Emeritus of the Illinois School of Architecture, died Sunday, November 24, 2013, at the age of 93. This gifted architect, teacher, philanthropist, and friend was widely recognized for his professional distinction in teaching and design. As a professor of Architecture at Illinois for more than 43 years, he touched and inspired countless lives.
Together with Jack’s family and colleagues, the School of Architecture presented a celebration of Jack’s life and career on Saturday, February 22, 2014. This celebration of Jack Baker’s life and work included friends and colleagues sharing perspectives on the many different areas of life that Jack so beautifully influenced. An exhibition of Jack’s work was on display, and monographs of his work was available for all attendees.
