Thulasi Ram Khamma, a Doctoral student working with Associate Professor Mohamed Boubekri at the Illinois School of Architecture, was awarded national-level Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps (EDF CC) Fellowship for the Summer 2017. As a EDF CC Fellow, Ram would be working at the JPMorgan Chase Headquarters in New York City. His role will be to support JPMorgan Chase’s Global Real Estate, Energy and Sustainability team on initiatives related to three major buckets of work: energy project analysis and advocacy, sustainability research and energy sustainability standards. He has been selected from a pool of over 1,000 candidates to join this elite network of future sustainability leaders. This is the second-time in a row Ram was selected for the EDF CC Fellowship. As a EDF CC fellow in 2016, he worked at Zeller Realty Group, a Chicago-based real-estate firm, where he worked on fault-detection in energy performance of office buildings through Energy data analytics.
Also, Ram was chosen for the 2016-2017 Central Illinois ASHRAE scholarship (first place), a scholarship for local engineering students interested in the HVAC industry.
